The Resume
(circa 1508-October 24, 1537)
Born in Wiltshire, England, United Kingdom
Third wife of Henry VIII
Died of puerperal fever twelve days after giving birth to Edward VI
Why she might be annoying
She could barely sign her name and was largely illiterate.
She had served as lady-in-waiting to both her predecessors as Queen Consort.
Henry trumped up charges of adultery against Anne Boleyn so he could marry her.
Henry married her less than two weeks after Anne’s execution.
She never was crowned, possibly because Henry was waiting for her to ‘prove’ herself by producing a male heir.
Why she might not be annoying
Her demure manner was a relief after the sharp-tongued Anne.
She tried to reconcile Henry with his daughter Mary.
She gave Henry his long-desired son.
In his will, Henry asked to be buried next to her.
