Name may be derived from the verb 'spring' as used to describe the springing forth of new plant life

Why Spring might be annoying:

Much spring weather is rainy, dull and cold.
Grimy hippies and New Agers often participate in spring equinox festivals.
It is a miserable time of year if you have allergies.
Many countries mark its beginning not with the spring equinox but merely with the return of warmer weather.

Why Spring might not be annoying:

Like Baby Bear's porridge, it's not too hot, not too cold, but just right.
As ee cummings put it, 'the world is mud-luscious and puddle wonderful.'
You can finally get rid of your heavy winter coat and boots.
It is often used as metaphor for hope and renewal as in 'Prague Spring' and 'Arab Spring.'
Plant life regrows, animals come out of hibernation and migrating birds return.
