Why she might be annoying:

Her only hit is a Christmas novelty song.
Why would anyone want a hippo for Christmas anyway?
She recorded duets with fellow child star/Xmas novelty singer Jimmy 'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus' Boyd.
As a teen, she tried to continue her recording career under the name Jamie Horton without success.

Why she might not be annoying:

At least she and Boyd did not merge their Christmas hits to create 'I Saw Mommy Kissing a Hippopotamus for Christmas.'
The Oklahoma City Zoo capitalized on the success of her song by holding a 'buy a hippo for Gayla' fundraiser to get a hippo for the zoo.
After leaving show biz, she became a teacher and owned her own ad agency.
