    He was a journeyman player.
    He missed the entire 2007 season due to injuries.
    He struggled with his pitching velocity in the first couple seasons after having Tommy John surgery.
    He voided a contract he signed with the Pirates when he broke his arm when he tried to scare his kids at Christmas (2012).
    He was convicted for drunk driving in the Dominican Republic, which delayed his work visa permit in the United States (2008).

    He went 12-3 and made the American League All-Star Team in his first full season in the majors (2006).
