He is confused with Alex Gonzalez of the Florida Marlins.

His error in Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS, led to the Cubs failure to advance to the World Series.
His career has been declining since he was traded to the Cubs.
He was a good student in high school and was offered a full scholarship to the University of Miami, which he immediately rejected. He went straight to the Blue Jays minor league organization.
Why he might not be annoying
People blame Steve Bartman instead of him for the Cubs Game 6 collapse (2003).
He is a very good defensive shortstop, which made his Game 6 error seem very surprising.
He lead the National League shortstops in fielding percentage (2002, 03).
He raises money to fight cystic fibrosis.
