Why he might be annoying
He was a liberal Democrat who flipped sides over the course of three years to become a conservative Republican.
His wife doesn't live with him and pursues an acting career in Los Angeles.
He switched sides because he doesn't like gays or abortion.
He and Democrat Skip Humphery ran against Independent Jesse Ventura in the Minnesota governor race and lost (1998).
Wikipedia proved that he edited his own Wikipedia entry to make it less critical.
Why he might not be annoying
During his liberal days, he was part of the anti-war movement of the early 1970's.
In college he was suspended for protesting the Kent State incident.
He was re-elected mayor in highly Democratic St. Paul after his Republican conversion.
