First Amendment to the Constitution and First Right in the Bill of Rights
It states: 'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.'
Some people hide behind the first amendment, as a protection for obscene or deviant behavior.
People associate the first amendment as only Freedom of Speech, forgetting the other valuable freedoms.
Congress, the Supreme Court, the FCC, certain so-called 'Moralists' and 'Religious groups' attempt to curtail these freedoms.
Many who try to weaken the First Amendment believe that people are too dumb to handle these freedoms.
People who fight the first amendment are called censors.
Pedophiles and those that burn virgins at the stake feel they should be protected by it.
