King Henry VIII split the Anglican Church from the Roman Catholic Church so that he could divorce and remarry.
Because of the split, all assets held by monasteries in England were absorbed by the Crown and contributed to the great wealth of the Monarchy.
Some followers believe themselves to be Protestant, while others state firmly they are not.
The first openly gay male Bishop used his position as a gay rights platform and suggested that Jesus Christ may have been homosexual.

Their inception allowed future Queens to keep their heads.
They allow women to be Priests.
There are openly gay Priests and Bishops.
They do not demand celibacy of Priests, Monks and Nuns.
