    Russian Composer
    Composed the operas 'The Gambler (1915-6) and 'The Love For Three Oranges (1919); Piano Concerti #1 (1911) and #2 (1913); the ballets 'The Prodigal Son (1928)' and 'Romeo and Juliet (1935-36)' and the suites 'The Love Of Three Oranges (1924),'
    Also wrote numerous film scores, including Eisenstein's 'Alexander Nevsky' and 'Ivan The Terrible'
    He dumped his first wife to take up with a poet.
    He dropped dead leaving a number of unfinished works.
    He was posthumously awarded the Lenin Prize for his Symphony No. 7 (1957).
    He was left handed.
    He was very open about his nationalism and patriotism.
    He visited 1930s Hollywood, learnt about film scoring and went back home to Russia.
    He composed 'Peter And The Wolf,' one of the most accessible classical pieces for children (1936).
