Most of his University of Kentucky teams tend to under-achieve in the NCAA tournament.
Since he succeeded Rick Pitino at University of Kentucky , he frequently is compared to him.
He recruited two of his own kids.

He was the first African-American head coach at the University of Kentucky.
In his first year at University of Kentucky, he led them to the national championship.
He led previously unheralded programs at Tulsa and Georgia to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.
He is known for a very intense stare.
He has to deal with the impossibly high standards of Kentucky fans.
He established a foundation that helps underprivileged children.
