Why she might be annoying
She joined the drama club at Cambridge Latin School, but went through all of high school without getting a speaking part.
She joined a USO troupe that toured Australia for seven months but never appeared in any shows.
She became better known as a game show panelist and talk show raconteur than an actress.
Fellow 'To Tell the Truth' panelist Orson Bean said her raspy voice 'could boil the fat off a cabdriver's neck.'
Why she might not be annoying
Her performance as Agnes Gooch got her a Tony award and an Oscar nomination for supporting actress.
On 'To Tell the Truth' she displayed an encyclopedic knowledge over a wide range of topics.
Bean said, 'She was always laughing. She was just a joy to be around.'
