Why he might be annoying:

Like George Michael, he was arrested after he solicited an undercover male police officer in a Fort Worth area park (1995).
He was also in possession of methamphetamines at the time he was arrested.
He made a plea deal in order to have the indecent exposure charges dropped, which was widely speculated to prevent him from being publicly outed to the media at the time of the incident.
Despite coming out to his family in his 20's, he was married to women on two occasions.
Shortly after the scandal became public, he divorced his second wife and filed for bankruptcy.
He was a contestant on 'Star Search.'

He recorded three #1 hits on the Billboard Country Charts during the late 1990's.
He was a successful country singer in the Texas music scene, prior to landing a contract in Nashville.
He persevered and continued his career after the scandal became public.
