Because he was self-conscious of his short stature, he had the desk in his Paramount office placed on a platform so he looked down on visitors.
He called a theater owner in Washington, DC, who had just been let out of intensive care following a heart attack and yelled obscenities at him for having sold tickets to a Paramount film at a $2 discount.
Director William Friedkin said, 'Frank had the biggest Napoleonic complex of anyone short of Napoleon.'
He 'won' a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Screenplay for 'Mommie Dearest.'
As the head of distribution at Paramount, he earned a reputation for squeezing a profit even out of turkeys like 'Paint Your Wagon.'
