Hockey Coach
    (September 2, 1963- )
Born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada
Drafted 107th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft
Forward for the Detroit Red Wings (1984-93) and the Tampa Bay Lightning (1993-95)
Head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets (2003-06) and the Florida Panthers
His nickname 'Turk' was a shortened version of 'Turkey,' which he received from his older brother.
He spent the majority of his career in Detroit during the 'Dead Things' era.
He played a total of 52 games in two seasons combined with the Lightning.
He was hired in Columbus as a result of then-GM Doug MacLean's strategy to employ the team's hockey operations with Prince Edward Island natives.
In Columbus, his teams were prone to having slow starts and being inconsistent.
Prior to Brad Richards, he was considered the most succesful NHL player to come out of Prince Edward Island.
He was one of the first players from Atlantic Canada to play in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in a time when most Maritime junior players opted to hone their skills in the Ontario Hockey League.
He was considered one of the league's underrated power forwards during the prime of his career.
Despite having limited coaching experience, he accepted the Blue Jackets head coaching job after Doug MacLean was fired.
Following his firing from Columbus, he returned to the QMJHL and guided the Saint John Sea Dogs to their first Memorial Cup championship, marking the first time in Canadian Hockey League history, a team from Atlantic Canada won the title (2011).
