He had hopes of becoming a Mormon minister before he broke into acting.
He admitted that he had very little knowledge of rock music before starring in 'Almost Famous,' stating in an interview that he thought Led Zepplin was one person.
His voice broke during the filming of 'Almost Famous,' apparently dropping one and a half octaves. He grew several inches, forcing his co-stars to wear platform shoes to cut the difference.
