He called his band 'Ben Folds Five' even though it had only three members.
He looks Jewish, he had a Jewish band play on 'Steven's Last Night In Town,' and he performs 'Havah Nagilah' at concerts, yet he is not Jewish.
His hometown, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, has TWO cigarette brands in its name, which could encourage smoking.

'The Ben Folds Five' was basically the only popular rock group that did not have a guitarist, instead using the bass to play both rhythm lines and solos.
