Why she might be annoying:

She was French.
She was a smoker.
She married her second cousin.
If we count biblical characters, she drops way down the list of the world's oldest people.
She said 'I've only got one wrinkle and I'm sitting on it' (ewwwww).
The nursing home where she lived released an album of her talking set to music, including rap.

Why she might not be annoying:

The Guinness Book of World Records officially recognizes her as the world's oldest person.
She is the second person (Shigechiyo Izumi (1865-1986)) verified to have lived to 120.
She was alive for World Wars I and II, the Cold War, the first flight, and the moon landing.
She not only survived her only child, she survived her only grandchild.
When she was 90, she signed an agreement with a French lawyer to sell her condo: He would pay her until she died, then he would inherit it. The condo was worth 10 years of payments, she lived 32 more. In fact, she outlived the lawyer and his wife and children were contractually bound to pay it (ha!).
She quit smoking (except for the occasional puff) at age 117.
She allegedly met Vincent van Gogh, later calling him 'dirty, badly dressed, and disagreeable.'
She attributed her longevity to port and chocolate.
The nursing home where she died renamed itself after her.
