Why he might be annoying
He had no NFL experience before joining the Raiders.
Many other more experienced candidates (including Ken Whisenhunt) turned down the Raiders job before he accepted it.
At 32, he was the youngest coach in the NFL during the 2007 season.
He ran an offense that featuredMatt Leinart and Reggie Bush.
He may be too under-qualified to be a successful head coach.
Why he might not be annoying
He has to deal with Al Davis.
He has experience coaching nearly every offensive position.
There were many rumors that he would leave the Raiders after 2007, but he refused to do so.
He never addressed those rumors with his players, believing they weren't important enough to address because he never planned on leaving the team.
Unlike past Raider coaches, he seemed committed to the team for the long run.
