Head coach of Queen's University men's hockey team (2005-06) and the Carolina Hurricanes (2012-14)

Why he might be annoying:

He was nicknamed 'Captain Kirk' in New Jersey and Montreal.
Because of his nickname, some reporters incorrectly list him as being the captain of the Canadiens 1993 Stanley Cup championship team.
He cried when he got dealt to the Islanders.
He sat out part of the 1995-96 season until he got traded to the Maple Leafs.
He was demoted to the checking lines the last few seasons of his career.
He became a journeyman player after leaving Montreal.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the second player drafted behind Mario Lemieux.
He was the first player in Devils history to record the most points and assists in a single game and the most points by a centerman in the regular season.
He was a fan favorite in New Jersey and Montreal.
When his scoring abilities decreased, he didn't mind being a role player for the Stars for four seasons.
He played in the All-Star Game five different times in his career.
He played for Team Canada in international competition.
