    Died of cancer in Lowell, Massachusetts at age 56
    Though he was a nice guy off camera, his menacing looks caused him to be typecast as villains in film roles.
    He played a character named Cueball in his first film (a nickname he sometimes went by), but sported a full head of hair in the film.
    He divorced the mother of five of his six children.
    In the 1980s he portrayed Mr. Clean in TV commercials and shilled for Midas Mufflers.
