Why he might be annoying
His film 'Mutiny On the Bounty' won the Best Picture Award without winning a single Oscar in any other category.
He is the only person to win the Best Director Oscar for a film that was not also nominated for Best Picture ('The Divine Lady').
When he won the 1933 Best Director Oscar for 'Cavalcade,' Will Rogers announced it by saying 'Come up and get it, Frank!'
Frank Capra (who was also nominated) thought Rogers meant him and ran to the stage before he realized that the winner was actually Lloyd.
Why he might not be annoying
He received three Oscar nominations for Best Director in 1929 and won the award for 'The Divine Lady.'
'Mutiny on the Bounty' is the only film to receive three Oscar nominations in the Best Actor category.
He was unpretentious.
