The Resume
(1855-1919)
Born in Plymouth, England, United Kingdom
Invented the English muffin
Why he might be annoying
His middle name is Bath.
He left his business to his daughters and nephew (Evidently he did not trust women with his business).
In 1970, the business was sold out of the family.
Muffins similar to his were sold in England, but quickly lost popularity.
Why he might not be annoying
He moved to New York City at age 19 (1874).
His english muffin was unique and unlike muffins served in England.
He originated the Thomas' English muffin in his own bakery but it became so popular, that he sold them to competing bakeries.
He delivered his product to all five boroughs of New York City by horse and carriage.
The reason why he added 'English' to his muffins, was because it added flair.
