Frontman for the J. Geils Band (1967-83)
Recorded the solo albums 'Lights Out' (1984), 'Come As You Are' (1987), 'Up To No Good' (1990), 'Long Line' (1996), 'Fool's Parade' (1998), 'Sleepless' (2002) and 'Midnight Souvenirs' (2010)

Why he might be annoying:

In college, he shared an apartment with David Lynch, who he drove crazy by always being late with the rent.
As a disc jockey, he gave himself the nickname 'the Wolfa Goofa,' sometimes expanded to 'the Wolfa Goofa with the Green Teeth' or 'Wolfa Goofa Mama Toofa.'
He said he tried 'all the drugs' but quit because 'I got bored.'
He is an insomniac who rarely goes to bed before 6 AM.
He left the J. Geils Band over 'creative differences' almost immediately after they finally scored their first #1 single and album.
He did a couple of corny white raps on his debut album.

Why he might not be annoying:

He studied painting with Norman Rockwell and designed several of his own album covers.
His college apartment was a few blocks away from a Boston blues club with a dinky dressing room, so he invited performers to change outfits at his place. As a result, he became friends with a lot of blues legends, even serving as unofficial valet for Muddy Waters.

He recorded duets with everyone from Aretha Franklin to Merle Haggard to Neko Case.
He is NOT the Peter Wolf who co-wrote and produced Starship's godawful 'We Built This City.'
