U.S. Governor

The Resume

    (March 28, 1933- )
    Born in Seattle, Washington
    US Senator from Alaska (1981-2002)
    Governor of Alaska (2002-06)
    Republican

Why he might be annoying:

After being sworn in as governor, he nepotistically appointed his daughter Lisa to replace him in the US Senate.
Despite opposition from the Alaska legislature, he spent $2.7 million in state funds for a Westwind jet (2005).
The legislature had to sue to stop him from signing a gas pipeline deal that they had not approved.
His chief of staff admitted to concealing $68,000 in campaign expenses paid for by an oil field service company.
By the end of his term, his approval rating had dropped to 14%, the worst rating for any US governor.

Why he might not be annoying:

He served in the Coast Guard.
He has been married to Nancy Rena Gore for over 50 years.
Unlike his successor, he did not follow up his stint as governor with a reality TV show.
