The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

Harlan Ellison dubbed him 'Glen Larceny' because many of his series were small screen knock-offs of hit movies: 'Alias Smith and Jones' was derived from 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,' 'B.J. and the Bear' from 'Every Which Way But Loose,' 'The Fall Guy' from 'Hooper' and 'Battlestar Galactica' from 'Star Wars.'
James Garner decked him during an argument over Larson plagiarizing scripts from The Rockford Files.
He conceded, 'What we weren't going to win was a shelf full of Emmys.' In fact, during his long career he was nominated only three times.

Why he might not be annoying:

He wrote or co-wrote the Four Preps' three million-selling singles and the theme songs for several of the series he created.
At one point, he had five series on the air simultaneously.
He said about the accusations that his series were unoriginal, 'It's a compliment, actually, because it means you're thinking in the mainstream.'
