Why he might be annoying
Most of his roles made intense use of his weight, or made a passing reference to it ('Porkins').
He is credited as acting in 72 movies, more than 2/3rds of those in bit roles.
He looked like Stanley Kubrick.
He will always be known as the pilot of 'Red Six' Jek Porkins in 'Star Wars' (1977).
In his most memorable film role, his character immediately exploded and died.
One web site referred to his characters demise as 'bacon splattering all over the Death Star.'
He started acting when John Lithgow told him he should.
Why he might not be annoying
He graduated from Princeton.
'Porkins' has become a cult figure in Star Wars groups.
He signed autographs for 'Star Wars' fans.
His bit role in Tim Burton's 'Batman' is also slightly memorable.
He took jokes about his weight with grace.
He had a great sense of humor.
In an interview, he said in reference to the 'Porkins' role, 'In a sense, my career's been downhill ever since. Fans still come to greet me at the stage door with action figures of my character and embarrassing photographs for me to sign.'
He made his affliction his Hollywood career.
He died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 58 (2005).
