Why he might be annoying
He used pot.
After a fight in Yankee Stadium, he thought Graig Nettles gave him a sucker punch, so after the fight he went after Nettles and got hit again.
He was against the U.S. space program, feeling it was just a way to promote commercialism, sarcastically he earned the nickname as the spaceman.
After he walked off the Red Sox when they traded his friend Bernie Carbo, he came back and the Red Sox traded him to the Expos.
When the Expos released Rodney Scott, he pulled the same stunt and walked out, the Expos axed him.
He is anti establishment.
He once wore an anti-Nixon T-shirt to spring training, angering the owner of his team.
He is a vegetarian.
Why he might not be annoying
He likes to talk.
He is left handed.
He said being left handed 'forces you to be tougher, because it's a right handed world.'
He tends to be a deep thinker.
He spoke against racial discrimination.
