Why she might be annoying:

Little is known about her early life as a slave.
She was quite uncouth.
She smoked homemade cigars and chewed tobacco.
Beauty was not her middle name.
Her temper was shorter than Britney Spears' first marriage.
She often engaged in shootouts and fisticuffs with men.
She was fired from her job at the convent after shooting a man in the ass because he insulted her.
She had a standing bet that she could knock out any man with just one punch.
She lost her hotel/restaurant because of mismanagement.
She was a lousy cook.
She may have died a virgin.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was born into slavery.
At over six feet tall and 200 pounds, she was an impressive figure on the prairie.
Some townspeople called her 'Nigger Mary' (losers).
She never backed down from anyone.
She constantly gave food and clothing to those less fortunate than her.
She was America's first African-American postal woman.
Like a good postal worker, she never let the weather stop her from making her deliveries.
Shortly before his death, Gary Cooper gave an interview to EBONY magazine about Mary's exploits; she baby-sat him as a child.
She received equal treatment in her town, rare for black people at the time.
