    Appeared in the films 'To Kill A Mockingbird' (1962), 'The Americanization of Emily' (1964), 'The Detective' (1968), 'Brewster McCloud' (1970), 'Escape from the Planet of the Apes' (1971), 'The Man' (1972), 'She's Having a Baby' (1988), 'Sommersby' (1993), 'True Crime' (1999) and 'Yesterday's Dreams' (2005)
    He attended future actress Margaret Hamilton's kindergarten class until he was expelled for misbehavior.
    His great-grandfather and namesake was a Congressman from Minnesota, which is also the role he played in 'The Farmer's Daughter.'
    He portrayed Don Murray's father in 'One Man's Way' (1964) despite being only five years older.
