Judge

The Resume

    (circa 1937- )
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge
Appointed to Los Angeles Municipal Court (1972)
Appointed to Superior Court Bench (2000)
Overturned the house arrest sentence accorded Paris Hilton following an infringement of probation (June 8, 2007)

Why he might be annoying:

He failed his arguments in the Cohen vs. California case (1971, against First Amendment attorney Melville Nimmer).
He was amazed at the amount of publicity his ruling on the Hilton case received.
He claimed never to have received a ‘standing ovation’ from any church for his actions.

Why he might not be annoying:

He worked eight years for the city attorney’s office.
The city attorney, questioning the sheriff’s decision to release Paris without approval, asked the judge to return her to court.
On the judge’s authority, deputies entered her home and brought her in.
He credited her the three days she already served.
