Why he might be annoying:

His father was probably not Genghis Khan because his mother gave birth to him right after her eight-month captivity by the Merkits.
For that reason, his relations with his ‘dad’ and brother Chagatai were rather tense.
He quarreled with his brother Chagatai over the military strategy on conquering Urgench, which resulted in Ögedei taking over instead (1221).
Tensions between the brothers never eased even after their father declared Ögedei heir.
As a result of the tensions, the European part of the Mongol Empire, which was ruled by Jochi, permanently split up from the Asian part.
There’s evidence that he tried to overthrow his father.
He had 14 sons and a daughter.

Why he might not be annoying:

Instead of disowning him completely, Genghis Khan raised him as if he was a legitimate son.
He pleaded with his father to spare the life of an enemy chief’s son but to no avail.
He attempted to negotiate with the city of Urgench in order to urge it to surrender peacefully, but this plan was rejected by Chagatai, who wanted to destroy the city.
