Why he might be annoying
He was nicknamed 'Caftans Courageous' for his flamboyant style of dress.
In an attempt to curb his overeating, he once had his jaws wired shut.
All his other movies flopped, suggesting that the success of 'Grease' was a fluke.
As producer of the 61st Academy Awards (1989), he was responsible for the notorious teaming of Snow White and Rob Lowe singing 'Proud Mary.'
Why he might not be annoying
Early in his career he worked behind the scenes at Playboy, where he became known as a great planner of promotional events and parties.
After he masterminded the Academy Award campaign for 'The Deer Hunter,' Christopher Walken told him, 'You can keep my Oscar six months of the year because you were so instrumental in getting the picture recognized' (1979).
He won a Tony Award for producing the Broadway musical 'La Cage aux Folles' (1984).
