(August 7, 2007- )
Airs on CBS
Hosted by Drew Carey
Premise: Contestants guess within a range how a certain percentage of Americans answered a poll
Top prize is $10,000,000
Why Power of 10 might be annoying
Its $10,000,000 top prize makes the other big-money game shows look cheap.
One of the show's questions asked what percentage of white Americans would not vote for a black person for president (18% said they would not).
As on 'Deal or No Deal,' the contestants bring their obnoxious family members with them for advice.
CBS claims that it is the richest game show in television history, although that's not entirely true ('Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' had a series of specials featuring a $10,000,000 top prize in 2004).
It seems like it tries too hard to be edgy.
Why Power of 10 might not be annoying
It is easier to win the $10,000,000 on this show than it is to win the $1,000,000 on some other shows.
It is a fun show to play along with at home.
The questions are based on a wide variety of controversial subjects (politics, religion, abortion, etc...).
One contestant won $1,000,000 on the first episode.
CBS was so impressed with Drew Carey's hosting that they chose him to replace Bob Barker on 'The Price is Right'.
