    Starred in 'Lassie Come Home,' 'Son of Lassie,' 'The Courage of Lassie,' 'The Sun Comes Up,' 'The Painted Hills,' 'The Challenge of Lassie' and 'The Hills of Home'
    Lassie starred in her own TV series (1954)
    There is currently a ninth Lassie
    First six Lassies were trained by Rudd Weatherwax
    Lassies VII and on, are train by Rudd's son, Bob
    Original Lassie was played by Pal, Lassie IV was Heyhey, Lassie VIII was Howard and Lassie IX is Mel

Why she might be annoying:

    She was always portrayed by male dogs, although females have done some of the stunts.
    The reason for using males are they are 10-15 pounds bigger and shed less in the summer.
    She has a limited vocabulary.
    On her official web site, the webmasters try to sell you everything.
    The original Jeff (Tommy Rettig) on the Lassie TV series was allergic to dogs.
    Rettig was constantly fighting with his co-star who played Porky.
    Cloris Leachman who played the original mother on the Lassie TV show was quickly fired, after an interview when she said she never would use Campbell's Soup (their sponsor) but prefers to make her own.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She had movie and TV deals (not bad for a dog).
    She always saved the day.
