    Known for releasing collections of bloopers on record albums, in books, and in TV specials

Why he might be annoying:

    If he did not have tape of an incident, he would hire actors to recreate it in the studio.
    Despite this, his records sported blurbs boasting that they were ‘100% authentic.’
    Even the less discerning listener will likely notice that multiple bloopers are voiced by a single person, suggesting that he hired a very limited cast for his recreations.
    If a blooper involving a celebrity was recreated, let’s just say the results show that he didn’t splurge by hiring Rich Little for the job.
    He also created audio for events that never actually happened, most famously radio host ‘Uncle Don’ Carney signing off from his children’s show, then declaring into a still-open mic, ‘That ought to hold the little bastards.’

Why he might not be annoying:

    He popularized the word ‘blooper.’
    He created a small media empire from other people’s mistakes.
    ’Dick Clark’s show ‘TV’s Bloopers and Practical Jokes’ included a dedication to ‘Kermit Schafer, Mr. Blooper.’
