Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He went by the nickname 'Fogie.'
Despite being a mainstay on the Oilers blueline in their early NHL years, he was overshadowed by the likes of Paul Coffey and Kevin Lowe.
Many casual Oiler fans don't remember his captaincy during the franchise's early years.
He was traded back to Buffalo for his final season, despite the fact he established himself as an Oiler great.
He was known as Lee Fogolin Jr., despite the fact his birth name was Lee Joseph, instead of his father's name of Lidio John.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a member of the Oilers inaugural NHL roster (1979-80).
He captained the Oilers to the franchise's first appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals (1983).
He unselfishly turned the captaincy over to Wayne Gretzky, when he felt the latter was ready to take over.
He earned two Stanley Cup rings as a member of the Oilers (1984-85).
His son, Michael was a promising hockey player who passed away due to heart failure at the age of 17 (2003).
