    Survived the sinking of both the Titanic and her sister Britannic
    Argentine-born of English/Irish descent

Why she might be annoying:

    She was divorced.
    She was on board the RMS Olympic when it collided with a British Navy warship HMS Hawke.
    A year later, she escaped from the RMS Titanic.
    In 1916, she escaped from the Olympic and Titanic's younger sister ship RMS Britannic when it struck a mine.
    If you are superstitious, you might think she was bad luck for The White Star Line.

Why she might not be annoying:

    Three of her nine siblings died in childhood.
    Her father died when she was little; her surviving family had to move to England.
    She was forced to abandon her college studies to take care of her dying mother.
    She rescued a baby on the Titanic, whose mother left it lying on deck.
    When the mother found Violet with her baby, she snatched her away without so much as a thank-you.
    She was almost killed during the Britannic's sinking when her lifeboat got chopped to bits by the ship's propellers.
    She jumped into the water seconds before the lifeboat hit the propellers, cracking her skull.
    She was very lucky (even if the ships she sailed on were not).
    Fiercely independent, she always supported herself and retired from the sea when in her sixties.
