Why they might be annoying
They originally called themselves the Croonettes.
Barry White wrote and produced their songs because he was dating (and later married) Glodean.
The most successful song from any of their albums does not actually feature them: an instrumental track from 'Under the Influence' was released as 'Love's Theme' credited to the Love Unlimited Orchestra and hit #1 on the pop charts.
Glodean sported four-inch long fingernails.
Why they might not be annoying
'Walking In The Rain With The One I Love' went gold, while 'I Belong To You' topped the R&B chart.
White was able to launch his performing career because of his success producing their records.
They broke up when Diane Taylor became too ill from cancer to tour (Taylor died of the disease in 1985).
