In 1836 4,000 Mexican troops battled with 189 Texans over a course of 13 days which is now known as The Battle of the Alamo.
The Alamo is now a tourist spot and, in it's own right, a museum.
This is the place to be if you like Tex-Mex food.
The Doobie Brothers wrote the song 'China Grove' about the San Antonio suburb.
It houses over 5 military bases, including 'the Gateway to the Air Force,' Lackland Air Force Base.
It has some great strip clubs which offer discounts for members of the military.
It has a big Asian and Latino population.
