Why he might be annoying:

Before becoming a DJ, he worked as a gofer at the Gallery disco, handing out drugs to the dancers.
He noted that although he was mobbed when he deejayed in Europe, he could walk down the streets of Chicago unnoticed.
He injured his right foot in a snowboarding accident (2000), ignored doctor's orders to rest it for a year, and developed osteomyelitis which, coupled with diabetes complications, eventually required the amputation of the foot (2008).
He called house music 'disco's revenge.'

He won the first Grammy given for Remixer of the Year (1998).
He said, 'When you've got someone as big as Luther Vandross and Michael Jackson sitting there, saying, 'Whatever you want, however you want it, I'll stay here as long as you need me,' that's the reward right there.'

State Senator Barack Obama got Illinois to declare August 25, 2004, Frankie Knuckles Day; also that day, the street that ran past the former Warehouse site was renamed Frankie Knuckles Way.
