Why she might be annoying:

    She grew up in a mansion that housed 70 people (including servants) but had only one bathroom.
    She spent most of her society debut, at a dance for Princess Mary, hiding behind a pillar.
    She spent the 30s traveling through Africa and Asia as a self-described 'pre-beatnik.'
    She smuggled herself in disguise into an area of Afghanistan that was off-limits to women.
    She was painfully shy and disliked royal events, so the Windsors may not have been the ideal family to marry into.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She disliked what she considered the 'pointless and boring' dilettantism of high society.
    During World War II, she was head of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force and worked with the Red Cross.
    After her husband suffered a stroke (1968), she took over his Civil List duties while continuing with her own commitments.
    Her oldest son Prince William died in plane crash (1972).
    She appeared at charity events well into her 90s.
