The Resume

    (July 27, 1848-January 11, 1870)
    Born in Attigny, France
    Birth name was Yvan Salmon
Journalist for the newspaper 'La Marseillas'
Shot dead by Prince Pierre Bonaparte, cousin of Emperor Napoleon III

Why he might be annoying:

According to Prince Bonaparte, the shooting was triggered by Noir slapping him.
He is remembered less for his journalism than for his monument at Pere Lachaise Cemetery, featuring a noticeable bulge in his trousers.
Officials fenced off the statue to keep people from rubbing it (2004).
The fence was removed after protests from the women of Paris, which turned out to have been faked by a French TV station.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was reportedly killed one day before he was due to get married.
According to a fellow journalist who accompanied Noir, Prince Bonaparte was the one doing both the slapping and the shooting.
His funeral was a rallying point for opponents of the Emperor, attracting 100,000 attendees.
According to legend, kissing his statue on the lips, rubbing its genital area and placing a flower in its upturned top hat will enhance fertility, bring a blissful sex life or enable a woman to find a husband within a year.
