Why Hilarious House of Frightenstein might be annoying
The original opening was dropped as it terrified children.
Many characters had the same heavy green makeup.
All episodes were filmed out of sequence in nine consecutive months in 1971.
In every single episode, the Count tried and failed to revive a Frankenstein monster wearing a peace medallion.
An unnecessary laugh track was added when it was syndicated in the US.
The Wolfman’s musical sequences cannot be shown in reruns owing to copyright rules.
Why Hilarious House of Frightenstein might not be annoying
It developed a cult following with adults.
It spoofed counter culture icons such as Wolfman Jack
and the Maharishi.
It included educational skits about grammar and science.
The producers persuaded Hollywood legend Vincent Price to participate.
The actor who played the Professor was a former student of Albert Einstein.
It may have influenced later Canadian sketch comedy series, SCTV.
