Murderer

The Resume

    (January 23, 1974- )
    Born in Ypsilanti Township, Michigan
    Resided in Lincoln County, Oregon
Murdered his wife, Mary Jane, and their three kids (2001)
Found guilty and sentenced to death (2003)
Subject of the book and film, 'True Story'

Why he might be annoying:

He started a construction clean-up subcontracting business that landed his family in debt.
He exaggerated his business' success to the point where his own father invested several thousand dollars into the company.
He spent lavishly and cheated on his wife while his business crumbled.
He made himself a fake driver's license and used it for a test drive on a Pontiac. He never returned the car to the dealership lot.
He printed false checks from companies that owed his business money and cashed them.
He pleaded guilty and received three years' probation for check fraud and forgery, resulting in his being stripped of his fellowship by the Jehovah's Witnesses.
When his credit ran out, he obtained a credit card in his father's name. He amassed nearly $100,000 in debt.
He violated his probation and led his family on a tri-state chase from the law, supporting the family by working odd jobs, writing forged checks, and hocking his wife's wedding ring.
After his murdered family was disocvered, he was placed on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list. He was captured in Mexico posing as a travel writer and was extradited.
He claimed on the stand that his wife had killed the two oldest children and that he, in shock, responded by strangling her (and their youngest child).
He is on death row, but there has been a moratorium on executions in Oregon since 2011 so...

Why he might not be annoying:

He admitted to being a clinical narcissist.
His parents were on America's Most Wanted cooperating with authorities.
He was played by James Franco in the movie version of 'True Story.' Franco claimed playing the part made him 'sick.'
He offered to donate his kidney to a homeless Oregon man in need of a transplant. The man declined (2014).
