Chief of police of Stockbridge, Massachusetts
Mentioned as 'Officer Obie' in Arlo Guthrie's 'Alice Restaurant'
Portrayed himself in the film 'Alice's Restaurant' (1969)
He became famous by busting someone for littering.
    He reportedly drank heavily.
He retired after hitting another officer during an argument over unauthorized use of a police car (1985).
He posed for two Saturday Evening Post covers by Stockbridge's most famous resident, Norman Rockwell.
