It was voted 'World's Best City' by Travel + Leisure magazine in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
It was the host city of the 2000 Summer Olympics, which were hailed by Olympic president Juan Antonio Samaranch as 'the best Olympic games ever.'
Famous Sydneysiders include Hugh Jackman, Steve Waugh, Delta Goodrem and Ian Thorpe.
