Why he might be annoying
His voice sounded exactly like a snobby aristocrat's.
He hated Mr. Magoo, often saying that he'd 'like to bury the old creep.'
He was often typecast as conniving tycoons.
His wife's name was 'Henny.'
He and Alan Hale, Jr. (The Skipper) liked to chip golf balls on the Gilligan's Island set, occasionally causing damage to windshields in a nearby parking lot.
Why he might not be annoying
His portrayal of Mr. Howell provided inspiration to crafty rich people everywhere.
He was happily married to Henny for nearly 50 years.
One of his grade school teachers was Margaret Hamilton, who later played The Wicked Witch in 'The Wizard of Oz.'
In the 1960s, he set a world record for the number of commercials he did for La-Z-Boy, over 15,000 in all.
He collaborated with his wife to write two books about his battle with Parkinson's Disease.
