Why Oceania might be annoying:

There is little known of the early people of the Pacific.
Their earliest archeological art only goes back 40,000 years with rock paintings. Their art work was primarily stick figures.
Aboriginal art work remained simple and stagnant for thousand of years with only minor improvements.
Captain Arthur Phillip of the British Navy started a penal colony of 800 in Sydney Australia (1788).
The U.K. begins systematically colonized Australia and moved the Aborigines out.
Not until 1967 were Aborigines granted full citizenship in Australia.

Why Oceania might not be annoying:

The countries of Oceania are strong allies with the United States and United Kingdom.
Melanesians and Aborigines of South East Asia populated the mainlands of Australia, New Zealand and New Guinea (40,000-6,000 BC).
Australia hosted two successful Olympics (1956 and 2000).
Easter Island has huge distinctive stone figures, called Moai, of ancestral chiefs that were carved around 1100 AD. Almost 900 of these are carved by 1600 AD.
In 1967, archaeologists uncovered the burial site of leader Roy Mata (c.1350) on Vanuatu. What is amazing is the ornamental shells and burial possessions were exact to oral descriptions handed down over 600 years.
Spanish navigator Ferdinand Magellan is the first to completely cross the Pacific Ocean (1521).
Many Oceania islands were discovered by the Spanish leaving South America to their colony on the Philippines.
Australia is the first country to use the secret ballot (1856).
