She was destined to become a dancer as she began studying dance at four.
She preferred younger men. Her husband John McCook was 8 years younger than her.
She was twice divorced.
Her first marriage lasted only a year.
While performing at the Las Vegas Hilton, fire broke out, killing eight (1981).

She attended the Royal Academy of Dance.
After Soviet Union Premier Khrushchev denounced the dancing in 'Can-Can,' she became the poster girl for the movie and fame quickly followed.
She was engaged to Frank Sinatra and had an affair with Elvis Presley.
She needed five stitches to close a cut made by a leopard during a rehearsal for Circus of the Stars #12 (1987). During a rehearsal for the Tonight Show, with the same leopard it again attacked her and she needed about 40 stitches to her ear.
Her legs were 39 inches long.
She appeared on the first 'Muppet Show' (1976).
