Why Max Headroom might be annoying
Max always talked like he had Tourette's syndrome.
Max appeared in TV commercials for 'New Coke.'
It had a character named 'Blank Reg.'
The show's subtitle was 'Twenty Minutes Into The Future,' while it was clearly a one-hour show.
Max's name was derived from a parking garage sign, into which Edison Carter ran into on his motorcycle in the pilot episode.
Why Max Headroom might not be annoying
It satirized modern society as TV-addicted and overly commercial (even though 'Max' himself was a soda pitchman).
Some episodes anticipated the reality TV phenomenon.
The show won three Emmy Awards, and was nominated for two others.
It has a cult following.
'The X-Files' writer William Gibson had submitted a script for the series, which was cancelled before it was shot.
